Eleanor Roosevelt defined as “A woman is like a tea bag: you can not tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” Women comprise half of human resources they have been identified as key agents of sustainable development and women’s equality is as central to a more holistic approach towards stabilizing new patterns and process of developments that are sustainable.
The contribution of women and their role in the family as well as in the economic development and social transformation are pivotal. Women constitute 90 per cent of total marginal workers of the country. Rural women who are engaged in agriculture form 78 per cent of all women in regular work.
SHGs play today a major role in poverty alleviation in rural India. A growing number of poor people (mostly women) in various parts of West Bengal are members of SHGs and actively engage in starting enterprise by taking loans from Different Schemes. But the Real Ground Problem is to utilize those fund . So they need a proper guidence.
Brief Description:-
"Ayukua Sakti" has initiated a lot of activities on Rural Women empowerment through Micro credit and micro enterprise issues. It was involved in building local SHGs groups and strengthening it for the development of villages by involving them in participation methodology. The organization has undertaken various project and implemented by involving them in the project activities for their village development.
Areas of Activities:-
Along with the concept of Self Dependent "Ayukua Sakti"conduct survey in villages of Borjol, and Kopai in Birbhum District with in poor and below poverty level people. At the time of survey 5 major problems are found:
Group Arrangement:-
They individually produce some regular usable and food items but due to market’s bulk requirement they unable reach their goal.
Price of market product is low but their individual production cost higher than that.
Whereas they are mostly village woman so Social bounding and family boundings creates a barer to reach the market for their product.
Woman in the village have major roll to maintain their family and children so they don’t have ample time to produce bulk quantity of material.
They agreed to make a group but management and conduct co-operation of that group become a problem for them.
